The LH wrestling team had an awesome 2008-2009 season as the varsity team won 27 duals and only lost 6 and again won the UIL District 18 Championship! 

The team boasted 5 District champions, 4 Regional placers, 3 state qualifiers and one UIL all state Wrestler who made the finals and placed 2nd!

Leading a strong group of returning wrestlers for the new 2009-2010 season is Returning 2 time state placer Isaac Grieder who has his sights set on a UIL state championship!  Following closely behind are seniors Robbie Penny and Ebrima Njie who both are returning state qualifiers.  Others to make a huge impact will be returning seniors and varsity wrestlers Drew Llorett, John Powers, Matthew Keath, Colman Vigil, Alfred Ngang, Brent Bono and Trevon Starks.

These 10 seniors have their sights on another District Championship and more!  With their experience level there should be no stopping them!!!!!

Lake Highlands Youth Wrestling
Lake Highlands also has a wrestling club for kids from the 2nd grade through 8th grade. Practices start in the middle of October and run through February.

If you are interested in joining the club, contact Coach Grieder at 214-543-6908.

He will answer any questions you might have about the sport of wrestling and how you can get your son more involved. Wrestling before high school means greater success when he enters his high school years at Lake Highlands.
