New Rules for College Visits & Other Absences |

Students who want to check out prospective colleges have new rules for missing class. Effective this school year, a student is allowed two college visits their junior year and two college visits their senior year.
A student must return a note from a parent within three days of returning to school after an absence. Notes received after three days of returning to school from an absence will be entered as an unexcused absence. RISD will file a case in truancy court for any student who has three unexcused absences within a four week period and/or ten unexcused absences within a six month period.
